PALME, DUBAI (ContentDesk) February 26, 2004 -- (Stand C131), Pacific Controls introduces Lighting Excellence, an exclusive lighting control solution designed for the modern home or office. The new solution features the Touch Control, an elegant multifunctional touch panel that replaces traditional light switches. Pacific Control's Lighting Excellence is a stand-alone lighting solution that can be integrated into Web Enabled Home Automation package. Lighting Excellence blends functionality and style, providing the capacity to design spaces for multiple functions through the use of different lighting scenes. These lighting scenes use an optimum combination of light types and intensities to create the desired ambience in a room that matches an occasion, mood or activity. Scene setting is accomplished through the stylish Touch Control, which replaces traditional light switches. The Touch Control eliminates the tedious task of setting the home atmosphere just right for daily activities, bedtime or special occasions. The living room can be instantly transformed from a brightly lit "Reading" scene to a dimmed ?Home Theatre" scene while the dining room can have separate one-touch setting for dinner parties or romantic meals. The Touch Control faceplates feature distinct icons on the keys that describe their application. Multiple functions can be performed with a single touch, allowing the user to group similar tasks and complete them simultaneously. The versatility of the Touch Control extends beyond lighting to the control of audio-video devices and electric motors. This implies that the user can incorporate functions such as opening or closing curtains, blinds and shutters, raising or lowering projection screens, turning on projectors, DVD players and even fountains into one touch applications. For example, to retire for the evening, the user only need touch a single button to close the curtains, turn on his security lights in the garden, switch off his fountain and light the way to the bedroom. In the office, a single touch turns on the projector, lowers the projection screen and dims the lights, preparing the conference room for a presentation. The Touch Control has a sleek and futuristic design that includes an illuminated cool-blue backlight at night for easy access. The programmable keys can be assigned endless number of functions that can be used to control individual or groups of lights as well as single or multiple dimmers. The keys light up and stay illuminated when touched, also allowing the user to control and monitor lights in one room from another.About Pacific Controls:Pacific Controls Systems LLC, Dubai, UAE, provides engineering services globally. Rose: Cleansing, healing, balancing, protective. Opens heart chakra, attracts love. Stimulates creativity, assists in letting go. Use for divination and blessings. Rosemary: Protective, cleansing, psychic stimulant. Opens heart chakra and third-eye chakra. Promotes visions, creativity and past life-recall. Dispels negativity. Can be an irritant. Sandalwood: Purifying, protective, healing. Opens sacral chakra. Good for meditation, astral projection, manifesting, blessings, house cleansings and releasing the past. Dispels negativity. Use precaution with essential oils. Read labels and heed any warnings. Be sure oils are properly diluted before using them on your skin and keep away from eyes. Never ingest essential oils.
I may be missing something, here, but it seems to me that, inadvertising terms, the loonies have taken over the asylum. Whatis getting me all lathered up is the preponderance of TVcommercials that go out of their way, not only to confuse theirtarget audience, but also to project an alarming image of theirproduct. I'll elaborate. The first example is the sad, but fortunatelyshort story of a current tv spot for a company called Debenhams. Now, Debenhams is a large UK department store which has branchesin many major cities throughout the country. As such, it has anexcellent reputation and an enviable turnover.Well, this outfit is running a commercial which has two distinctscenes. The first shows a man sitting in a room at a table, andbeside him is a back-projection of a pond. As he sweeps an objectoff the table and into the pond, we see ripples in the water. Thesecond scene is of a young girl in a room and the back projectionis of some trees, each carrying a profusion of autumn leaves. Asthe girl moves around the room, the leaves begin to fall.So far so good; and as an exercise in special effects this spotis exemplary, because the last thing you'd expect to see in yourliving room is a pond or a stand of trees.Anyway, we are now treated to a voice-over which says, to theeffect, that if you drop into Debenhams you'll find lots more ofthe same. My question is: the same what? Throughout thiscommercial, we are not actually told what it is we are beingoffered.I assume it is wallpaper, but I could be wrong - it might bepersonal back projection. The second example concerns a new computer from Apple-Mac. Thespot opens with an explosion and a man being thrown against atree. The camera then tracks towards a house, in the side ofwhich is a gaping hole. The camera continues through into thehouse, showing us debris falling all around and large holes inthe walls of successive rooms. We finally track towards acomputer, and the voice-over says something like: Introducing thefastest, most powerful computer in the Mac stable. The message I interpret from this is that the new Apple-Mac is sopowerful it explodes. Not only that, it will probably reduce yourhome to rubble.Oh, yeah, I must rush out and buy one of those.Am I alone in thinking that these two commercials, despite theirhuge production values, are less than clever? On the one hand, the advertiser neglects to tell us what it is that he's trying tosell. On the other, we have a product that is reminiscent ofMission Impossible and self-destructs when you switch it on.Given all of this, I'd like to pose a question. When therespective ad agencies presented the storyboards for thesecommercials to their clients, did nobody on the client side raisea query or two? Like: since we're spending all this money, shouldn't we at least say what we're offering? Or: is it really asensible idea to associate our computers with explosions?Of course, it could be that I am missing some wonderful newmarketing strategy that will shortly be revealed and will make melook extremely foolish. Though I doubt it. And I doubt it becauseI saw a beer commercial the other day (Stella Artois, I think),in which a man on a balcony actually spat on the people below. You have to be a very brave advertiser -or a very stupid one -toally your product to this kind of imagery. And this crudity seemsto be more and more prevalent.I leave you to ponder all of this. Meanwhile, you'll do no betterthan visit www.wordpower3.com.

When was the last time you sat through a terrible presentation using computer projection? When was the last time you gave one? If you want to avoid disaster and give your career a boost then apply these ten tips the next time you present with the computer projector. And if you want to do a friend a favour then slide them a copy of these tips before their next presentation. The biggest mistake is to believe that cool graphics will make up for your lack of presentation skills. If you can not cook - it does not matter how good the stove is. Use these tips to develop your presentation skills and work with the tools. The computer is only a tool. You are the presenter. When you present with multi-media you are more than a performer. You are a producer. Be aware and stay in control of what you and your technology are doing to the audience. 1. Stand on the left side as the audience sees you. Because we read from left to right your audience can look at you then follow your gesture to the screen. Their eyes are comfortably moving left to right, they read the text then they return to you. If you stood on the right side their eyes have to make too many movements to read the slides and watch you. If you present using Hebrew, (read right to left), stand on the right side of the screen. If you present using old Chinese, (top to bottom), climb on top of the screen, (just kidding). 2. You are the show. Be heard and be seen. Stand away from the computer and in the light. Use a remote mouse to get away from the computer. Too many people hide in the dark behind the laptop. Arrange the lighting in the room so that you are in the light while the screen is dark. You might need to unscrew some of the ceiling lights to get it right. 3. Turn off the screen savers on your computer - any that are part of the Windows software - plus the one that comes with the laptop. It is embarrassing for you to be talking about important points you thought were on the screen while they are looking at flying toasters or Bart Simpson. It is even worse when your energy saver kicks in and shuts it all down. Remember to adjust this as well. 4. Learn how to use the switch that toggles both screens on. Often this is a function key. This toggle controls whether your laptop or projector - or both are on. You want both on so you can look at the laptop while the audience watches the same image behind you on the screen. Occasionally glance quickly at the screen just to check. But put your laptop between you and the audience so you can be looking at your audience while speaking. 5. Colours appear differently on the projector, the laptop, and the desktop where you designed it. If the exact colour is important, (perhaps for a company logo), test and adjust the colour ahead of time. 6. Keep it simple with the colours and special effects. Use no more than six colours on a slide. Use slide transitions and builds to entertain without detracting from your message. Effects like partial build reveals one point at a time allowing your audience to stay right with you. 7. Motion attracts their eyes. Gesture to the screen when you want them to look there. Use moving text to grab attention. Stand still when you want them to look at the screen. Move when you want to capture their attention again. 8. Test your slides for size and readability by standing six feet away from the monitor. If you can read the monitor then your audience will likely be able to read the screen. If they can not comfortably see and read your screen all you did was to annoy them. 9. Arrive early and test everything. Re-read this line - again! 10. Murphy loves technology. Be prepared with backup files, an extra power source for the laptop and projector and spare batteries for your remote mouse. It only takes one little thing to spoil it. Be prepared to give your presentation without the hardware. Bonus TIP: People buy you - not your technology. You are always selling yourself - don't get lost in the technology..

Imagederm Inc. the manufacturer and designer the of the maintenance free microdermabrasion system is introducing the premier dual canister microdermbrasion system. This system holds two different choices of material, without having to change or empty canisters. The technician will put the most used material in the canister marked #1 and the 2nd choice of material in the canister marked #2. In front of the machine, there is two inputs marked 1&2, when the small connector hose is inserted into the #1 input that will project #120 grit crystal, when the hose is put into the the input marked #2, it will project #80 grit crystal, or whatever the technician chooses to put into the 2nd reservoir. Some technicians like to use sodium bicarbonate as a second choice.???? The Illuminated tip comes in red LED or white LED the red light is for skin rejuvenation and to produce new cell renewal. The white LED is conducive to a spa setting, because of the dim lighting in the treatment room. The illuminated white light will help the technician see while performing the treatment, thus the customer is not exposed to the bright lights. The Diamond-crystal abrader tip can be interchanged with regular tip for even more exfoliation. This will give the technician a choice to use the diamond tip with or without crystal projection. The diamond-crystal tip is coated with a diamond abrasive when used in place of the regular tip it will intensify the abrasiveness. The diamond tip can also be used without the crystal projection. Using the diamond tip with vacuum only, can act as a gentle buffing to the skin.Imagederm makes their machines keeping in mind that time is money. A technician needs a machine that is virtually maintenance free, does not clog, is quiet, portable and eliminates the after costs for consumables. For more information and pricing on the Imagederm system, please contact ImagedermToll free. 866.462.4334 or 818.500.9034. 3032 Dolores Street, Los Angeles, CA 90065.
5. Joey Gathright- Tampa Bay Devil Ray(OF, Minors) Joey Gathright has been called the fastest player in the league, he's even been called the fastest man in the world, but he hasn't yet received big-league playing time. Gathright could be that guy, who gets to the 100 SB mark. He'll have to wait however with a crowded list of OF's on Tampa Bay. Joey Gathright is so fast, so athletic that he can jump over a car... the long way. "But I can't do it anymore," Gathright said. "It's in my contract. I'm not allowed to jump over cars anymore. Can't jump fences, either." Gathright could get a call to the majors sometime in 2004. Steals projection this season: 45, between Minors and Majors. 4. Rafael Furcal- Atlanta Braves(SS) If Rafael Furcal got more SB opportunities he could easily steal 50+ bases in a single season, but the Braves don't send him enough. Furcal stole 25 bases last year, and was caught stealing just twice. With Furcal's speed, he should get twice as many steals as he did last season. In 2000, Furcal stole 40 bases, so why aren't they sending him now? SB aside, Furcal showed his speed last season when he scored 130 runs in the Braves leadoff role, good enough to place him 3rd in the majors. With some of the big-name sluggers gone from Atlanta, the Braves need to find a new way to produce runs, and Furcal will be a key part in that. Steals projection this season: 40 3. Carlos Beltran - Kansas City Royals(OF) Carlos Beltran stole 41 bases last season, and was only thrown out 4 times. That's a ration of 10 steals per 1 time being thrown out, and thats an amazing ratio. Beltran can not only run the basepaths well, but he hit 25 HR, batted in 100 RBI and batted .307 last season. Carlos Beltran is an all-around fantasy god. He should steal more bases this season, because he missed 20 games last season due to injuries. Carlos Beltran is a 4-10 pick overall, and he won't disappoint you with his speed. Steals projection this season: 55 2. Juan Pierre - Florida Marlins(OF) Pierre led the leagues in SB last season, so why isn't he the top speedster? Well he did get CS 20 times. Pierre is on a Florida team that loves to run, 5 Florida hitters stole double-digit bases last season, and Pierre was their leader. Batting at the top of the order, Pierre would get on base and then he would proceed to try to steal second. Pierre attempted a steal about once every 3-4 times he got on base. Pierre's fantasy value skyrocketed last season, and he should get around the same amount of steals this season as he did last year. Steals projection this season: 58 1. Carl Crawford - Tampa Bay Devil Rays(OF) So you might be asking, why Crawford over Pierre or Beltran? Carl Crawford stole 55 bases last year, in his first full season, Crawford stole 55 bases and was CS 10 times. That's 5.5 SB per 1 CS, which is a whole lot better than Juan Pierre's ratio. Crawford should only improve his speed over the next few seasons, in which his whole team will be improving around him. In his best season Crawford could steal 70+ bases and score 120+ runs. Steals projection this season: 63.

The show, which lasts approximately half an hour and includes over 100 images of stained glass depictions of Advent and Christmas scenes, will brighten up the otherwise spartan places of worship for our soldiers, marines, sailors and airmen during Christmas services. The final version was created using ProShow Gold (tm) software which was kindly donated to the project by the Photodex Corporation of Austin, Texas. Distribution is being effected via the internet. A copy of the show has been uploaded onto Ralley's website http://stainedglassphotography.com and links are being provided to Chaplains at the various bases and other military facilities.
Projectors have come a long way in the past few decades. The desktop fossils that were once used to show home moviesor classroom filmstrips are a thing of the past. With today's technology, you can now experience a projected movie that emulates a full-blown theater flick, without thetime, effort and hassle of standing in line at the local cinema.DLP projectors ? also known as Digital Light Processing projectors ? have brought the proverbial silver screen to the home front. The fact that some theaters actually use this type of technology for feature movie projection makes this truer than you might imagine. After being digitally converted and placed on an optical disk ? much in the same way as DVD technology is produced ? the images are fed intothe projector and sent to the movie screen. The main difference is that DLP projectors offer a high definition experience, as opposed to that of a DVD. The result is a picture that very nearly rivals the quality of a 70mm projection, but without the imperfections. The color accuracy of the DLP system is outstanding, with an end result that beats LCD technology. Some of the advantages that make a DLP the projector of choice are its low power consumption, compactness, micro-mirror construction (which is responsible for the high level screen resolution), high contrast and brightness. All in all, this is the closest that anyone can come to having a bona fide cinema within the confines of their home. With every set of pros, you'll always find some cons lurking in the shadows. Such is the case with the DLP projector. For those who are particularly sensitive to certain visual effects, the DLP design produces a type of "rainbow effect," which could serve as a distraction when looking from one side of the screen to the other during viewing. This will play out as a brief splash of colors, which is simply a result of the type of technology that's used in the production of the DLP. Most people don't even notice this color display, but those who are in tune to that sort of thing may see it as an annoyance. While this is also true for LCD projectors, consumers mightbe disappointed to know that DLP projectors need to have their light source changed after every 1,000 to 2,000 viewing hours. All in all, though, this is nothing new and, when you consider the higher quality that this type ofsystem offers, it shouldn't be seen as much of an inconvenience at all.Perhaps the most inhibitive aspect to the acquisition of a home theater system, such as the DLP, is that the cost willtypically fall within the range of $5,000 to $10,000 for the mid-range systems, once you purchase everything that you'll need in order to complete the set-up. In addition to that, you'll have to consider the cost of the rest of your home theater system, since these figures only factor in the DLP expenses. For those who can afford to do so, the DLP projector is an excellent investment, despite its few downfalls. While no projection system is perfect, DLP is currently the most popular set-up on the market and provides a powerful theater experience for those who aren't inhibited by space or finances..

Xtreme Cyber Mania from Starr Group, Ltd. introduces a vertical offering of 40" diagonal to customized 150" diagonal front and rear projection units complete with complementary projector and customized cooling systems to extend the life of the bulbs. These packages units are plug and play compatible; simply attach a console game box or hot-rod PC and enjoy the ultimate Cyber game experience.Existing display devices including TVs, CRTs and Plasmas provide a less than fulfilling experience due to burn in and ghosting of images when games are placed in pause mode. The Photismos? Projection Unit 22nd Century goddesses project the original source input device directly to the screen without distortion. Simply configure the HDTV setting (480p, 720p, 1080i) on the game console and that signal is directly passed through to the acrylic projection panel.Of particular note is the goddess Voluptas comprising the 40-inch diagonal 3-D floating display. This rear projection unit includes a 1500 lumen-DLP-SVGA projector with HDTV quality. While less than ? in thickness, the unit provides an optical illusion where the screen image appears to be floating in air. A 2-D picture looks 3-D in brilliant backlighting. Even in direct sunlight, the image is clearly visible. "There is no other technology that provides this vivid and rich viewing experience." said Allan M. Olbur, VP. "The gamer industry is currently estimated at annual revenue in excess of $10 Billion turnover and is projected to grow to $35 Billion in the next couple of years. Just look at the consumer demand for Halo2 at its introduction last November. Microsoft and Sony are hoping to introduce their next generation of console game boxes. Our projection unit systems are ready to accommodate their next generation systems."Starter level packages include a projector and acrylic projection unit. Packages are available in a number of sizes. The goddess Hora provides a 50-inch diagonal front projection unit and the goddess Perfica is equipped with a 60-inch diagonal rear projection unit. Larger sizes include the goddess Libertia at 60-inch diagonal front, the goddess Copia at 80-inch diagonal front, the goddess Nerio at 80-inch rear, the goddess Daphne at 80-inch diagonal rear and the goddess Pertunda at a full 100-inch diagonal rear projection. For the active lifestyle gamers, customized units up to 150-inch diagonal (single acrylic panel) or video walls can be crafted for pole mount, wall mount or free hanging installations.About Starr Group, Ltd.Starr Group is dedicated to bringing gamers a rich experience in public venues by providing large display HDTV quality systems.
